Our mission is to design, develop and produce medical
devices that will significantly improve the lives of patients.
In May of 2000, SaluMedica moved from the ATDC
technology incubator to a new manufacturing, research
and development facility in mid-town Atlanta.

Management Team:

David N. Ku, M.D., Ph.D., President and CEO, founded SaluMedica after
inventing Salubria™ biomaterial while studying cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Ku is Regents' Professor and holds the Lawrence P. Huang Chair of
Engineering Entrepreneurship at the Georgia Institute of Technology,
and is Professor of Surgery at Emory School of Medicine. Dr. Ku received
a M.D. from the Emory School of Medicine, a Ph.D. in Aerospace
Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.A. in
Engineering from Harvard University.

Xavier Sarabia, M.B.A., Vice President, is responsible for business and
corporate development, finance, legal affairs, and human resources. With
ten years of experience in the medical device industry, he has successfully
developed products for C.R. Bard, Arrow, and Proxima Therapeutics. He
holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of
Technology and a M.B.A. from Mercer University.

Lani Paxton, M.D., Ph.D., Director of Research, has a background in
immunology and medical devices with her M.D. and Ph.D. from Emory
University. Dr. Paxton conducts advanced research on potential new
uses of Salubria™ biomaterial and supervises the related clinical evaluations.

Jeff Fecho, M.B.A., Director of Quality, has developed the Quality
System at SaluMedica and is in the process of obtaining ISO certification.
He has managed and implemented quality programs at Moen Incorporated,
C.R. Bard, IVAC Corporation and Ametek-Lamb Electric.

Financing: The company was initially financed in 1998. A second round
of financing was completed in October of 2000. The company may seek
additional funds in 2001 that will be used for a clinical study.
